The Dangers Of Distracted Driving

In The Dangers Of Distracted Driving, a 17 year old girl named Rebecca Rapin makes a Public Service Announcement (PSA) about the dangers of a distracted driver. In this PSA she shows how dangerous it can be to be distracted while you're driving.  With a soda in one hand and a burger in the other hand is one way it can be dangerous when you're driving.  Also, reading a map, putting on makeup, and taking pictures while you're driving is another way it can be dangerous.  But, the one thing that I thought seemed really dangerous while you're driving is texting and talking on cell phones.  It says that traffic crashes are the Number 1 killer of teens in the United States. More than 5,000 people die each year and tens of thousands of injuries happen each year. Rebecca was trying to say that you should not do anything else but drive when you're in a car.  All you should do is drive.

  1. I found your article very informative, Kayla. I think that you might want to consider making the main idea a little bit clearer, though. I really don't have anything else to say than overall, it was very good and I really like it!

  2. A driver who is texting with their phone in one hand and eating a snack in the other, while both of their hands should be on the steering wheel, is an example of how, distracted driving is the number one cause of teenager deaths in the U.S. Creating a Public Service Annoucement is a fantastic way to tell people not to get distracted behind the wheel, which is just what 17 year old Rebecca Rapin did. Rebecca's PSA won a contest out of seven hundred entries and got the chance to turn her idea into relity and won a thousand dollars. Rebecca clearly states that driving is the only thing you should be doing behind the wheel. The state of Massachusetts has recentally enforced the law that states text-messaging and any other internet related activities is banned from all drivers, and that cell-phone use or any other mobile electronic use is prohibited from teenagers under the age of eighteen.

Kayla, I think you did a really nice job giving the overall meaning of the article and sticking straight to the point. I look forward to reading more articles by you.
